Bench press and pull ups

WOD: bench press 3x5 then:
  • 10 dead hang pull ups
  • 400m run
  • 7 dead hang pull ups
  • 400m run
  • 5 dead hang pull ups
  • 400m run
I'm still injured, so it's strictly upper body stuff for now.

Injured

My hip flexer is still too sore to do anything that involves squatting or hip flexing. Not cool.

Back Squats

Tested back squat on Saturday. I hit 295 lbs and then my hip popped at the bottom. I finished the lift, but called it a day. We'll see where I'm at in another 6 weeks.

Handstand Pushups

Today we tested our max handstand pushups in hopes of improving on that number in ~7 weeks. I pumped out 13 strict handstand pushups. No kipping.

We followed that up with a little something.

A little something (AMRAP 5 mins):
  • 35 double unders
  • 15 dumbbell thrusters (35 lbs)

Helen

Did "Helen" today. My grip went to hell on the second round of pull ups.
WOD ("Helen", 3 rounds):
  • 400m run
  • 21 KBS
  • 12 pull ups
My time was 10:50. That's another PR! My previous Helen time was 11:39.

  • 12 dead lifts (bodyweight)
  • 21 box jumps
Finished in 12:35. I beat my old time by 4:13!
